A Bit Funny

A Bit Funny

A Bit Funny is a gay cartoon aimed at your everyday working class gay society.
It is based around the life of a daft gay man, who deals with all kinds of situations that life throws up, and the relationships with those that are closest to him, including his cat, Splutt, who also throws up..

The name 'A Bit Funny' was inspired by the film "The Full Monty" where at one point Robert Carlisle says "There's nowt as queer as folk.." when observing two of the other men from their gang holding hands. This got the Birks thinking of other silly sayings that describe someone as being gay.
'A bit funny' might be an odd saying, but bear in mind that Birks comes from Derbyshire...

A Bit Funny was originally created for 'Out With It!' - a newsletter for Oasis, a gay youth group run in Suffolk. To see this newsletter, click on the link below.
Since then, the strip has been published in the September 2000 issue of Fluid, a national gay lifestyle magazine, and now has it's very own web site, featuring cartoon strips, character profiles, and more. Go see now!
