S-Team
S-Team was a project to help gay and bisexual men around Suffolk. Run by Simon Thompson amongst others, it dealt with things like health issues, sexuality, moral support.
The finished logo is far from where the project started, as the small designs show. Birks originally wanted to create a sense of confidence and pride, which is what the project is about. However, the powers that be wanted a strong solid shape, rather than a representional image.
So, a square was opted for, the strongest and simplest shape there is. Combined with modern, contrasting colours and a quirky typeface, a modern, confident and vibrant logo is born.
