About Birks.info
Birks.info, previously GrahamBirks.com and GeeBirks.co.uk before that, was the first venture into web site design for Birks. Originally created with Adobe Pagemill 3, it has proved to be well received.
As with all Birks design, the emphasis was on simplicity and functionality. The cloud strip was basically because friends of Birks think that his head is in the clouds anyway, so it was used it as a graphical feature. The style of the site has been carried on into business cards, letterhead, cv, and even an invoice.
This site is currently at version 3. Using various programs, and the help from Project Seven, the site uses all the things that you would expect from a web designer, server side includes, style sheets, form stuff, Flash, and all that.
This latest version includes the top menu system, which works on all sorts of browsers, and makes navigating around the site a whole lot easier.
The site was set up by Birks himself on the servers at Pyramid New Media, even the DNS stuff.
